How to Make an Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelet in Less Than 2 Minutes
I’m a big fan of diffusing essential oils!
I diffuse essential oils for energy when I’m feeling tired and sluggish,
I diffuse essential oils to help me fall asleep and stay asleep,
I diffuse essential oils to help me relax and de-stress,
I diffuse essential oils to support my family’s immune systems,
I diffuse essential oils to make my home smell great no matter the season or time of year (spring, summer, fall, winter, Christmas), and more.
Yep, essential oils are pretty much always working their magic in my home diffuser.
The only problem is you can’t take a big, bulky home diffuser with you.
That’s where diffuser jewelry comes in.
Put 2-3 drops of essential oil on a diffuser necklace or diffuser bracelet and you can have the scent and therapeutic benefits of essential oils with you wherever you go.
One of my favorite essential oil projects I’ve ever done is making these super easy and super cute essential oil diffuser necklaces.
In 3 easy steps and in less than 1 minute, you can make a DIY diffuser necklace for about $1 each. (find instructions here)
And just like those DIY diffuser necklaces, these DIY essential oil bracelets are also REALLY EASY to make.
Supplies — All you need are…
- scissors
- 1/8″ deerskin lace or suede cord (find it here in lots of colors)
- connector charms (choose from crosses, hearts, encouraging words, or other designs)
- and, of course, essential oils
It’s a fun and easy project for yourself, a girls night, or a make & take class.
They only take about 2 minutes to make, and you don’t need any special crafting skills.

Style #1 – How to make a wrap diffuser bracelet for essential oils
step 1:Â measure and cut a piece of leather or suede cord
measure:Â to find the length of cord that’s right for your bracelet, wrap the cord loosely around your wrist 3 times and then add 2-3 inches more so that you’ll have long enough tails to tie
cut:Â cut both ends of the cord at a 45 degree angle to make it easier to thread the cord through the eyes of the connector charm
step 2:Â thread one end of the cord upward through one eye of the connector charm
step 3:Â thread the other end of the cord upward through the other eye
step 4:Â pull the cord taught across the back of the connector charm and adjust the cord so that about 1/2 of the cord is on each side of the bracelet
step 5:Â flip the bracelet over and wrap it around your wrist.
step 5:  Tie the ends in a knot. If needed, trim the ends of the cord. Make sure to leave tails on the knot so that you’ll be able to untie and tie it again.
Simple DIY Diffuser Bracelet- Style #2
step 1: measure and cut two pieces of leather or suede cord
For this style, you’ll need to cut two pieces of cord.
measure: to find the length of cord that’s right for your bracelet, wrap the cord loosely around your wrist 1 time and then add 2-3 inches more so that the tails will be long enough to tie.
cut:Â cut one end of the cord at a 45 degree angle to make it easier to thread the cord through the eye of the connector charm
step 2: thread one of the cords through one of the charm’s eyes. Then pull cord through the eye back towards the other end of cord.
step 3:Â do the same with the 2nd piece of cord
step 4: tie the bracelet around your wrist. If needed, trim the ends of the cord. Make sure to leave tails on the knot so that you’ll be able to untie and tie it again.
How to use your diffuser bracelet
- Apply 2-3 drops of essential oil to the soft underside of the bracelet. The aroma for the essential oils will slowly diffuse into the air around you. If at some point you want more immediate results, you can bring the bracelet closer to your nose and inhale deeply.
- Some essential oils have quite a bit of staying power and will last for 2-3 days before needing to be reapplied. The scent of others will fade more quickly.
- To change EO blends simply wait for a few days for the scent of the first EO blend to wear off and then apply a different EO blend.
