Lemon essential oil is one of my favorites. It makes my kitchen smell so fresh & clean every time I unload the dishwasher!

You can use 40 drops of a single essential oil or use 40 drops total of a combination of citrus essential oils.

I love, love, love this dishwasher detergent. I’ve been making it for quite a few months now and absolutely happy with it. Dishes come out sparkly clean, no food residue. My 10-year-old daughter and I enjoying making it together. Thank you so much for the great recipe Sarah!
Why can’t this be used in dishwashers with stainless steel interiors?
You can use it, but if the stainless steel has any cracks or cuts in it, then the citric acid in the detergent can get into the cracks/cuts and over time might erode the finish.
