I love the feeling of a clean home, but cleaning is not something I like to do.
So I like to make it as simple and fast to clean as I can.
That’s where these essential oil cleaning wipes come in.
They clean with just a quick wipe.
And I feel so much better about using these around my family than the store-bought kind because these are all natural and toxin free.
They’re made with a few common ingredients, and it only takes about 2 minutes to whip up a batch.
Then once they’re made, it’s super convenient to just reach into the jar and pull out a wipe.
They’re so handy and effective! Here are just a few of the ways I use them:
- clean up spills and messes on kitchen counters
- give the handle of a shopping cart a quick wipe
- use it to clean car’s interior (test on an inconspicuous spot first)
- clean and shine kitchen sink
- get rid of mold and mildew in bathroom
- wipe out microwave
- clean toilets
- clean up streaks on refrigerators, dishwashers, and ovens

step 1:Â add 3/4 cup distilled water to glass canister (click here for the glass jar I used)
note:Â you can substitute boiled and cooled filtered water for the distilled water
note: you can use certain types of plastic containers instead of the glass jar if you’d like. Look at the bottom of your plastic canister to make sure that it is either PET plastic #1 or HDPE plastic #2. Those types of plastic are considered safe to use with diluted essential oils.
step 2:Â add 1/4 cup white vinegar
step 3:Â add 1/2 teaspoon unscented liquid Castile soap (click here to get it online)
step 4:Â add 30 drops of essential oils
I used these:
10 drops tea tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia)
10 drops lemon essential oil (Citrus limon)
10 drops eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus radiate)
step 5:Â gently stir everything together
note: try to not stir it too briskly so that the Castile soap doesn’t bubble up too much
step 6:Â get your paper towels or disposal guest towels ready
I used 30 select-a-size paper towels (like these), and I folded them in half to make them easier to pull out of the jar.
Alternatively, you can use premium paper dinner napkins or disposable guest towels (like these).
You just want to be sure to use a sturdy, thick paper product so it will hold up to sitting in the cleaning solution and scrubbing as you clean.
step 7: roll up the paper towels, then put them in the glass jar so that they sit in the cleaning solution. Gently twist the paper towels around a little in the jar so that the cleaning solution is swirled around them on the bottom.
step 8: Put on the lid. The cleaning solution will work its way up the paper towels on its own. And before long the paper towels will be completely saturated in the cleaning solution.

You can print this label on full sheet label paper, or you can print on plain printer paper and adhere to jar using either a glue stick or packing tape.
