We buy most of our bottles and containers from Amazon as it has a huge selection of great bottles/containers and it tends to have the best prices once you factor in shipping.  But we also buy bottles & containers from Specialty Bottle, Etsy,  AromaTools, Walmart, Bulk Apothecary, and  Hobby Lobby.

Please be careful when selecting bottles & containers for use with essential oils.  Essential oils can interact with many materials making them unsafe for use with essential oils.

We try to use glass and stainless steel whenever possible.

If needed, we’ll use silicone, HDPE plastic, and PETE plastic containers.

We try to avoid all other kinds of plastic, tin, and aluminum.

What do you use for products that you want to use in the tub or shower as far as a container? Glass? Plastic?

    • Sarah Lewis January 7, 2016 at 11:27 am - Reply

Hi, Mary Jean. I use glass containers for bath salts that I keep by the tub, but I usually use plastic bottles for things like shampoo and body wash that I take into the shower. For in-the-shower containers, I try to use silicone, HDPE plastic, and PETE plastic containers; those are supposed to be safe and not degrade with essential oils. – Sarah

Just a heads up, your link for page 2 doesn’t work. Adding an S to “upplies” doesn’t work either, results in page not found. Regardless, thank you for sharing all this great info!

thanks, Cyn! I think I’ve got it fixed now. Several folks have tested it, but if anyone has a problem, please let me know. I really appreciate it! – Sarah

Where do I purchase the items that you list?

    • Sarah Lewis March 3, 2016 at 11:06 am - Reply

Hi, Terry. The items are from many different places (Amazon, Etsy, AromaTools, Specialty Bottle, Costco, Walmart, and more). There should be a link to where to buy for online shops or a text call out for things that are best bought at brick & mortar stores like Walmart, Costco, and grocery. If there’s anything you’re having a hard time finding or you need a link to a specific product, please let me know. Happy to help. – Sarah
