Essential Oil Recipes for St. Patrick’s Day Treats

St. Patrick’s Day is next week.   My red hair and green eyes make me perfectly suited to the day, but regardless of our ancestry, we’re all a little Irish on St. Patrick’s Day!

While my family may not all like corned beef and cabbage, we all love the St. Patrick’s Day parade, warm Irish soda bread, mischievous leprechauns, and of course, yummy green food!!

Here are some ideas for yummy green foods to try this St. Patrick’s Day.  And the fun twist on all of these delicious recipes is that they’re made using essential oils as the flavorings.

So get out your lime, peppermint, and spearmint essential oils and starting cooking.  Not only would these recipes be fun treats for St. Patrick’s Day, they’d also be delicious food for a make & take party!!

Chips & Salsa

Shamrock Tortilla Chips  from Buzzfeed

The tortilla chips themselves aren’t made with essential oil, but I love to season them with lime-essential-oil salt (simply mix 1-2 drops of lime essential oil with about 2 tablespoons of sea salt).  Tastes fantastic!!  And, of course, more than half the fun of eating tortilla chips is having something yummy to dip them in, so be sure to scroll down for amazing recipes for avocado peach salsa made with lime essential oil and rainbow salsa made with Roma tomatoes, red, orange, and yellow bell peppers, corn, jalapenos, fresh cilantro, black beans, red onions, and lime essential oil.

You can cut these shamrock tortillas cut free form, but it’s much easier to use a cookie cutter like this.  I haven’t looked this year, but you can usually get these at Walmart, Target, Michael’s, Jo Ann’s, or your other favorite crafting store.  You can also find them here on Amazon.
